Destinies menu

This menu was a tutorial and progression system that rewarded players for completion of meta objectives similar to achievements and delivered rewards. The organization used ‘Paths” to group similar objectives based on systems, level, or intent and delivery meaningful rewards for players completion of those objectives. This system was extremely successful in our reports from the Alpha player base and was intended on expanding to include advanced Paths and objectives across all levels and systems.

  • Individual objective progression and rewards

  • Destiny ‘Path’ rewards and progression displayed

  • Fully customizable layout tool usable by designers and UI/UX Art & Design

  • Unique constellation artwork and states to display progression

Settlement Menu

The Settlement Menu was a vital part of the settlement system in Ashes of Creation. Settlements are player run hubs that required coordination for materials, gold, experience, and progression. This menu housed vital information for a variety of systems: Summary, treasury, building info, building upgrade system, settlement to settlement diplomacy, and relic storage and application.

Features:

  • Fully dynamic notifications on the summary page, each given a priority and by clicking, links to the relevant information deeper within the menu

  • Tracking of resources, resource acquisition, and taxes. All manageable by the player elected as mayor of the settlement

  • Full building construction and upgrade management system, with dynamic states notifying players of contribution or voting requirements

  • Settlement to Settlement diplomacy, storing information about wars and sieges. Eventually planned to expand to trade and collaborative efforts

  • Relic storage and management, a menu to manage the unique items that provided special benefits to the settlements that owned them.

Skill Tree Menu System
Dynamic system built to allow for modular skill trees. This system was fully editable by design and could support fully customized tree layouts across multiple systems.

Ashes of creation - ui update - development & process

A monthly development update done by the studio. That month was focus was on the UI team, our pipeline and process. I am not usually in front of a camera, but it was nice to be able to teach people about UI/UX and represent the work that myself and the UI/UX team were working on.
